Divestiture positions Argon to increase focus on the growth and expansion of its Interventional business
Plano, TX, February 6, 2017— Argon Medical Devices, Inc. (“Argon”), a leading global marketer and manufacturer of specialty medical devices used in Interventional procedures, announced today that it has completed the sale of its Critical Care business (“Critical Care”), including a manufacturing facility in Yishun, Singapore and related commercial operations in Europe and Japan, to Merit Medical Systems, Inc. (“Merit”, Nasdaq: MMSI). The sale of the Critical Care Unit allows Argon to focus solely on its Interventional business worldwide. “The divestiture of the non-strategic, Critical Care business, is a further step toward concentrating attention of the entire business on our higher growth, Interventional portfolio.” said George Leondis, President and CEO of Argon. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
